"We wanted to take a Jewish walking tour in Amsterdam when we visited but were not completely convinced about booking what was on offer. All seemed a bit commercial. Then a friend of mine who is a Holocaust scholar recommended this tour. I have always been very interested in what happened in Europe during WWII as well as in Anne Frank’s story. Well this tour ticked all the boxes. We were given an in-depth look at the diversity of Jewish life in the Netherlands and an intimate look at Anne Frank’s life both before and during the hiding period. I hesitate to call Rian (just) a guide because of the immense amount of knowledge she has to share with visitors. If you find yourself in Amsterdam, this is a walk (through history) that simply shouldn’t be missed!

"As German Partner Organisation of the Anne Frank House we always are happy to fall back on the vast knowledge of Rian Verhoeven. Even Anne Frank experts can learn from her as she has always new facts and stories to tell. Her tours are invaluable for me and my team!"

"Rian Verhoeven took my family and I (7 people) on multiple walking tours and we absolutely loved her and all of the information we learned! I couldn’t recommend her enough! She is so knowledgeable, kind, and thoughtful. Overall she is a fantastic guide and really helps you see parts of Amsterdam that are usually only known by locals and historians. We learned so much and I can’t wait to return and go on another guided tour with Rian!"

"Rian Verhoeven has brought the history of Anne Frank from the past into the present. Her experience and knowledge of times gone by, has connected me with my ancestry and provided much historical data that I have used in telling my story. It would be a pleasure and honor for anyone to meet Rian Verhoeven, a helpful, intelligent, individual with much feeling and knowledge."

"Rian Verhoeven's unique tour around Merwedeplein and other places of Anne's former neighborhood was an absolute stroke of luck for our team: Her vivid descriptions of individiual life stories connected to the Frank family combined with her vast knowledge of the historical context came just at the right time for us during the development of our new permanent exhibition "All about Anne".
